  • Default settings: Sleep 30 minutes / Awake 10 minutes → weeks of operation.

The device reports battery voltage and percentage in every position update.
It also detects charging status for rechargeable configurations.

8. Can I update the firmware remotely?

Answer:
Yes. The GPS smart lock supports Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware upgrades using the P99 command.

  • You specify the OTA server IP and UDP port.

  • The device downloads and installs the new firmware automatically.

  • No physical access is required.

9. Does the device work internationally?

Answer:
Yes. The lock features dual SIM slots with single standby operation.

  • It automatically selects the SIM card with the stronger network signal.

  • You can configure APN settings for different carriers using the P06 command.

Answer:

Step 1: Set your server IP and port using command (P06,1,<YOUR_IP>,<PORT>,<APN>,,,0)
Step 2: The device connects via TCP and sends binary position data starting with 0x24 ($)
Step 3: Parse the data using our field definitions (latitude, longitude, status, alerts, etc.)
Step 4: Send commands back to the device using ASCII format, e.g., (P35) to acknowledge alerts

11. What is the Unit ID and where do I find it?

Answer:
The Unit ID is the last 10 digits of the device‘s IMEI number.

  • IMEI example: 860298043396604 → Unit ID: 8043396604

  • It is used as the device identifier in all command responses and data transmissions.

12. Can I send commands via SMS instead of GPRS?

Answer:
Absolutely. SMS is a backup communication channel.

  • Send any command (e.g., (P02)(P43,888888)) from an authorized phone number.

  • The device will execute the command and respond via SMS.

  • This is especially useful when GPRS is unavailable or for simple queries.

In addition, you can configure up to 5 authorized phone numbers using the command.

13. How do I reset the device to factory settings?

Answer:
Use the P13 command:

(P13) → Response: (8043396604,P13)

What is preserved: Host IP, port, APN, and authorized phone numbers.
What is reset: All other parameters (reporting intervals, alert settings, RFID keys, password, etc.).

As a result, you can recover from misconfiguration without losing network connectivity.
